International snow leopard day

23 October is also celebrated as International Snow Leopard Day. The day was established by the Snow Leopard Trust in 2014 to raise awareness of the snow leopard and promote action to protect this endangered species.

The snow leopard is a large cat native to the high mountains of Central Asia. It is one of the world's most endangered big cats, with an estimated population of only 4,000 to 6,500.

International Snow Leopard Day is an opportunity to learn more about the snow leopard and the challenges it faces. It is also a day to take action to protect this beautiful and endangered species.
